Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Awwranges collects, why, who we share it with and what you can do about it. We have kept it short and in plain language.
Who we are
Awwranges provides websites, menus and online ordering for independent food businesses. In this policy, "we" means Awwranges and "you" means a café owner or team member using the café portal.
We handle two kinds of information in two different roles:
- Your account and your business. We decide how this information is used, so we are responsible for it.
- Your customers' information. When people order from your café website, you decide why and how it is used, and we handle it for you to run the ordering. If you are a customer of a café, please contact the café about your information.
What we collect
From café owners and teams
- name, email address and password (passwords are handled by our sign-in provider and are never stored in readable form)
- your café's name, address, phone number, hours, menu, photos, logo, website text and settings
- messages you send our support team, and the questions you ask Kiki, our help assistant in the portal (we keep them, with who asked and whether the answer helped, to improve our Help Center)
- your subscription status and your billing identifiers at our payment provider. We do not store your full card number
From your customers, when they order
- name, phone number and email address
- delivery address and delivery notes, for delivery orders
- the items ordered, the time, the amount and the order status
- payment confirmation from Square. Card details are entered with Square and never reach us
About how sites are used
- we count visits and actions on café websites so cafés can see their analytics: the page, where a visitor came from, the type of device, and a random number for that one visit. This is not linked to a name or an account
- our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, to run and protect the service
How we use it
- to run your website, menu and ordering, and to show orders in your kitchen display
- to bill your subscription and keep your account secure
- to answer your questions and give you support
- to show cafés their analytics and to send service messages, such as order and account notices
- to improve and protect Awwranges
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted services to run Awwranges. They only receive what they need to do their job:
- Supabase stores our database, sign-in and uploaded images
- Vercel hosts our websites and portal
- Dodo Payments takes subscription payments from café owners
- Square processes customer card payments for cafés that connect it
- Uber Direct receives the pickup and drop-off details needed to deliver an order, for cafés that connect it
- Google Fonts supplies the fonts our pages use, so a visitor's browser contacts Google to load them
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect people or our service. If Awwranges is ever sold or merged, the information would move to the new owner under the same promises.
When our team opens your portal
Our team can open a café's portal to help, but only with the owner's permission, or in a short emergency session that is always announced to the owner in their support chat. We can never see card details or your Square and Uber credentials. Every change is recorded, and owners can see it. The details are in our Terms.
How we keep it safe
- connections to our sites use HTTPS
- Square and Uber Direct connection details are stored encrypted
- access to our systems is limited to the people who need it
- support access to your portal is time-limited and logged
No system is perfectly secure, but we take care to protect what you trust us with. If something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open, and for a reasonable time afterwards in case you come back. Orders are kept so cafés can see their history and keep their records. We keep some records, such as billing records, for as long as the law requires.
You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time. We will do it unless we need to keep something for legal or accounting reasons.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can ask us to stop using it in ways you do not agree with. Email hello@awwranges.com and we will reply.
Café owners can edit most of their information directly in the portal. If you ordered from a café and want your order details changed or removed, please contact that café, and we will help them do it.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. We use your browser's storage only for things that make the product work:
- keeping you signed in to the café portal
- remembering your choices, such as light or dark mode
- keeping a customer's basket while they order, and a random number that counts one visit for a café's analytics (cleared when the browser tab closes)
Children
Awwranges is for businesses and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you think we have, please tell us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When the changes matter, we will tell you in the portal or by email. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
